The story of Autek A/S goes back all the way in the mid seventies, when Mr. Ove Albertsen Ph.D. from the Technical University of Denmark started as a sub-contractor for the "old" highly respected Danish company H.P.A. (H.P.Andersen/HPA). HPA produced automotive test equipment for exports to the global arena.
As time passed by Mr. Ove Albertsen became more and more integrated into the business. Not only did he develop new products for HPA, he also traveled around the world to promote the HPA products. In this way Mr. Ove Albertsen obtained the know-how and know-who - the contacts in the business of automotive test equipment.
 
Unfortunately HPA was sold to the Swedish company, Car-O-Liner, in the year 1985. A long and close relationship between the two Danish companies was broken and Autek Industri was without the one and only customer, HPA. For your information, HPA was further sold to the Italian company SIMPES a couple of years later.
 
During the year 1985, Mr. Ove Albertsen, founded the OPTO-PLUS brand name, which is today sold in more than 40 different countries around the world. Mr. Ove Albertsen had the contacts world wide to develop his own customer base and further he had the knowledge of how to develop products for automotive testing.
On the 26th of May 1998, Mr. Ove Albertsen passed away leaving people in great sorrow and his son Mr. Jens Ove Albertsen was challenged by taking over the position as managing director for Autek. Mr. Jens Ove Albertsen has worked several years for Autek during and after his education in engineering and economics.
The career of Mr. Jens Ove Albertsen has a high degree of international working experience. Among other impressive job-positions abroad he has been employed in the financial business in London, Business Process Reengineering for IBM and software development for Den Danske Bank, the largest commercial bank in Denmark.
 
Today Autek A/S is still fully owned by the Albertsen family. Autek A/S continuously develop, produce and market automotive test equipment under the brand name OPTO-PLUS. As much as 95% of the annual turnover comes from exports to 40 countries all over the world.
